One of three retirees recognized at Wheatland School today is Mr. Matt Gunter. Matt has served as middle/high school principal for the past 20 years. Numerous staff members showed their appreciation for Mr. Gunter’s support during the reception. He has had a positive influence on students in the district for years. The Wheatland School District is grateful for Mr. Gunter’s service to the district and wish him the best in retirement!

Among the retirees honored today at Wheatland School was Mr. Larry Foltz. Larry has driven a school bus for the Wheatland School for 14 years. Larry’s dependability on the job is unmatched. He has been a consistent team member looking out for the best interests of our kids for years. The Wheatland School District is very appreciative of Larry’s service through his 14 years here. Thank you Larry, enjoy retirement!

Ann Hood once said, "I have learned there is more power in a good strong hug than in a thousand meaningful words." Today was our last school day with Ms. Kim as she moves on to retirement. 21 years in education...18 years at Wheatland...countless lives touched. Former students gathered around her one more time for a picture and a hug. Education is a rewarding career but it's hard. Many leave or do not even consider the profession for a variety of reasons. Thanks not only to Ms. Kim for her years of sacrifice and love but to all those teachers out there retiring. You are special human beings who have continued to push on even when there have been challenging days, weeks, students and classes. Thanks for staying the course and helping students discover their gifts. Maybe today no one in our building had a 1000 words to give Ms. Kim, instead she just needed a hug. #WeAreWheatland #AcademicsRelationshipsOpportunities #SuchASpecialPlace
